Fans of the TV show, Community, should rejoice after one of the lead actors in the TV show revealed that a movie might be in the works. The TV series which has been a cult favorite by many avid fans has been off the air now for 5 years, but despite that, Community, still gets a lot of publicity due to its unique storyline.
The revelation comes from Joel McHale, who plays the main character in the TV series. The comedian was Jimmy Fallon’s guest in his late night TV show, wherein he divulged on a future Community film.
The TV series first went on air last 2009 on NBC and has racked over 110 episodes. Community went on to have 5 seasons and was off the air in 2015.
The show follows Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) enroll and attend ‘Greendale Community College’ in fictional town Greendale, Colorado after it was found that his degree from Columbia was not real.
He then enrolls in Greendale Community College, which he chose due to his friend who is a professor there thinking he was going to have it easy.
The professor doesn’t help him and he ends up having to really go to school. He then creates a study group with an unlikely group of people, this includes Allison Brie who played the quirky Annie Edison, an ex-drug addict, Donald Glover played Troy Barnes, a quarterback who suffered an injury getting his full ride scholarship to an ivy league university dropped. Gillian Jacobs who played Britta Perry in the show and is also the love interest of the character Joel McHale plays.
There are also other cast members that complete the show, also numerous cameos by famous people were also seen in Community.
In the interview with Jimmy Fallon, Joel McHale commented that the possibility of the film becoming real is not far off, but only if the original creator of Community will jump on board with the project.
Dan Harmon, the creator of Community is said to be very busy with his schedules as of the moment. Dan Harmon is also one of the creators of the famous animated series, Rick and Morty.
Community, like any other TV series on air, also went some rough patches with rumors of the TV series being canceled early on, but fans have been extremely loyal to the show as it has given some of the best TV lines as well as TV plots in the comedic world.
