Prince Philip’s life has been all about doing the right thing, the royal, who was born a prince of Greece to a no longer existent royal family went through many hardships in life. Once he married the Queen of England, Elizabeth, his whole life was dedicated to his wife and to the crown. The Prince served as an active royal for decades and only retired last 2017 at the age of 94.

A new biography of the Duke of Edinburgh is in the works, it accounts the early years of the Prince as part of the British royal family and there are some heavy bombshells in the book.

Author of the book, royal commentator, Ingrid Seward reveals in the book that Prince Philip saw no sense in Harry’s exit from the royal family.

The Prince saw the move of his grandson and Meghan Markle as a betrayal to the royal family. Ms. Seward also writes that Prince Philip is disappointed at the new generation of royals, saying that they do not share the same values as he did. 

“He has struggled greatly, for example, with what he sees as his grandson Harry’s dereliction of duty, giving up his homeland and everything he cared about for a life of a self-centered celebrity in North America. He has found it hard to understand exactly what it was that made his grandson’s life so unbearable”, Seward writes in the unreleased biography.

She continued to say that Prince Philip saw no reason for the Sussex’ exit, they had a lot of things going on for them, a beautiful home, a healthy son and a platform that will give them the opportunity to make impactful charity work.

This opinion of Prince Philip comes from a place of comparison. Long ago the prince was witness to the abdication of former King Edward VIII to marry a twice divorcee and American Wallis Simpson, forcing his father-in-law, King George VI to rise to the throne.

The life of Harry and Meghan reflects that of King Edward. Meghan, who has been divorced before and is an America and Harry, a royal prince ending up together then leaving the royal family.

According to sources close to the Duke of Edinburgh, he has supported Harry and Meghan’s decision completely and there is no bitterness between Prince Philip and grandson, Prince Harry.

Currently, Harry and Meghan are based in California and has signed a deal with Netflix to produce shows for the streaming giant.
