Meghan Markle wanted only one thing in her life.
While speaking with Daily Mail, Markle’s friend said that Markle wanted to get an Oscar.
“An Oscar is all Meg ever wanted. She used to practice her acceptance speech in the mirror with a hairbrush when she was a kid of seven. She would also practice her signature in preparation for all the autographs she would give,” the friend said.
And Prince Harry’s wife’s absolute dream was to achieve the EGOT, which is an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards.
“Her acceptance speech has been ready for 30 years. Perhaps now she will get to use it,” the friend said.
Based on what Markle’s friend said, the Duchess of Sussex wanted nothing more than to receive an award. And this desire is far more than her desire to join the royal family or date a British man.
Years ago, TV personality Lizzie Cundy revealed that Markle once asked her to help her find a British man that she could date. The two women met at a charity dinner in 2013.
“Do you know any famous guys?” Markle, reportedly, asked Cundy.
Markle also told Cundy that she was single then and really loved English men.
“I was thinking about some of the Chelsea lots and I thought of Ashley Cole as he’d split from Cheryl. I showed her a photo of Ashley and she was like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s cute. Does he have a reputation?’ I was like, ‘Well, yeah, but you’re only here to have a bit of fun,” Cundy said.
One day later, Cundy and Markle met up again at the Global Gift Gala in West London. She said that the Duchess of Sussex had so much fun that night.
“Meghan’s so relaxed, she liked a drink, great fun. I remember her asking about my boys. She was very interested and asking lots of questions. Usually, you find actresses just talk about themselves. She was really fun, really sweet. I liked her,” she said.
However, it took Markle three more years before she met the English man of her dreams. In 2016, Markle was introduced to Prince Harry by their common friend. And they dated at the Soho House in London.
The rest was history for the couple. And just one year later, they announced their engagement. In 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot.
