Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been accepting freebies from their friends.
According to Globe, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pampered by their pals because they don’t ask them to pay for anything. To date, they have, allegedly, received $4.5 million worth of freebies from their friends.
On the night of their first date, Prince Harry and Markle went to the Soho House. Their bill was, reportedly, around $535 per night, but they didn’t have to pay for anything.
Markus Anderson, the owner of Soho House, reportedly, shouldered all the costs that the Sussexes incurred. According to Finding Freedom, Anderson also shouldered $6,100 to cover the couple’s stays at Cotswolds Soho Farmhouse, a place in Somerset, and a weekend holiday.
The Suits alum also, reportedly, flew free on Jessica Mulroney’s private jet from Toronto and London to meet with Prince Harry. Sources claimed that the cost of the flights and the dates are roughly around $65,000.
Following their royal wedding, Queen Elizabeth gifted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with Frogmore Cottage. This means that they didn’t also have to buy a house in the United Kingdom using their own money.
Prince Harry and Markle also previously joined George Clooney and Amal Clooney at the latter’s home on Italy’s Lake Como. They also rode the couple’s private jet instead of paying for their own flights.
Amal and Serena Williams also, reportedly, shouldered the $400,000 bill for Markle’s baby shower in the United States. The two-day event was held at a luxury hotel in New York City.
Elton John also lent Prince Harry and Markle his private jet when they traveled to Nice, France. While in Canada, the Sussexes only paid half of the $100,000 cost of staying at their house in Vancouver Island.
And when they relocated to the United States, they stayed at Tyler Perry’s mansion for five months rent-free.
But despite all the perks and freebies that they have received, there are still claims suggesting that Prince Harry and Markle are struggling financially.
According to reports, Prince Charles continues to help fund the couple’s extravagant lifestyle.
Prince Harry and Markle also recently purchased a $14 million property in Santa Barbara, but they only paid $5 million and applied for a mortgage for the rest of the cost.
