Prince Charles allegedly begged Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to visit him in Scotland by the end of the summer.
While speaking with New Idea, royal expert Ingrid Seward said Prince Harry is toying with the idea of visiting his dad in Birkhall. However, it is unlikely that Markle would join him on the trip.
“Enough water has passed under the bridge now, and he misses his dad. But Meghan has made it fairly clear she has no interest in going along for the trip, which means Archie stays, too. For her, there has been too much damage done and she feels if she goes back, she will be made to feel like more of an outsider than ever. This may be true, but I feel for Charles not seeing his grandson,” she said.
Prince Charles and Prince Harry have not seen each other since March. Back then, rumors swirled that the father and son were at odds with each other because of Prince Harry’s decision to quit The Firm.
But in Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand said that this wasn’t the case. Prince Charles was never upset with his son’s decision to quit.
While speaking with The Sun, royal expert Nigel Cawthorne also said that Prince Charles tried his best to support the Duke and Duchess of Sussex even after their Megxit.
“Charles genuinely made an attempt to support what Harry and Meghan were looking for as long as it wouldn’t upset other HRH’s In truth, however, there wasn’t a lot he could do apart from offering moral support,” he said.
Prince Charles also reportedly helped Prince Harry and Markle financially until they’re able to bounce back from their expenses in the United States.
This week, it was announced that the Sussexes sealed a multi-year deal with Netflix. And according to Seward, the recent deal will free Prince Charles from the financial burden that he has to deal with because of Prince Harry and Markle.
“I imagine Prince Charles will be relieved. And the British public will be relieved because they can pay back what they owe now on Frogmore Cottage, so it's a win-win situation,” she said.
