The past week news of Chadwick Boseman’s passing has rocked the celebrity world. The ‘Black Panther’ actor who was battling Stage IV Colon Cancer before his passing has gone down as a legend in the movie world and has left his fans feeling empty and sad.
The actor has been praised by many of his close coworkers for being one of the humblest and kindest men they have ever met. Boseman who played King T’challa in the blockbuster Marvel movie, ‘Black Panther’ has been dubbed a hero in the Black Community.
Boseman also had many award-winning movies under his belt that led him to be one of Hollywood’s best actors.
Boseman died at the age of 43 after battling Colon Cancer for almost 4 years. The critically acclaimed actor was first diagnosed with Colon Cancer Stage 3 in 2016.
He battled the disease in privacy and silence, with his co-actors and even directors not knowing that he was undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
The actor battled the disease for over 4 years while continuing to film many movies, including the ‘Black Panther’ series.
Now, ‘Black Panther’ executive producer Nate Moore shared the last text he received from Chadwick Boseman.
Mr. Moore explained that Chadwick and he were working with the Make-A-Wish foundation to send messages and toys to sick children in hospitals. Moore continued to say that Chadwick ‘cared so intently, and in hindsight, so personally” about the terminally ill children.
He also shared that Chadwick would say that it ‘broke’ him seeing these children in situations like this.
Moore shared Chadwick’s last message to him, "It broke me, man. We need to do that for them. People deserve an abundant life, special moments. They’ve been through hell battling disease. If we were able to ease their suffering and bring joy for a moment, and hopefully moments [as] he goes through the bags, then we made a difference in his life."
According to sources, Chadwick Boseman’s fight with cancer was kept within his family and a group of close friends and that no one involved with ‘Black Panther’ or any of his other movies done while battling cancer knew.
Bringing to life King T’challa in ‘Black Panther’ has created Chadwick Boseman as one of the most prominent superhero figures in the history of the Marvel Universe.
The movies also garnered more than a billion in the box office and gave inspiration to many young black kids. The superhero come to life was only something Chadwick could do, and that they are thankful that he honored them to play the part.
Chadwick died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, he is survived by his wife and children.
