Aside from being touted as the world's highest-paid actor, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has a reputation for being super strong. Contrary to his notoriety, the former WWE Superstar announced that he has contracted coronavirus.

Taking to his Instagram account on Wednesday, Johnson shared a video talking about his diagnosis. He accompanied this 11-minute clip with a message in the caption section, urging his 196 million Instagram followers to stay disciplined and boost their immune system.

In the video, the Moana star advised his fans to commit to wellness and wear masks in a bid to protect their families. Furthermore, he advised people to be strict about having people over their home or gatherings, concluding the message with a piece of advice to stay positive and care for their fellow human beings. "Stay healthy, my friends," the message read.

The 48-year-old actor revealed in the video that he has been dealing with illness for two and a half weeks now. He went on to confirm that he, his wife Lauren, and their two daughters have tested positive for COVID-19.

Johnson said testing positive for the deadly disease has been one of the most challenging and difficult things that have had to endure as a family, and for him personally, too. He explained that testing positive for COVID-19 is nothing like overcoming serious injuries or being evicted, or even being out of business.

The actor's yearning to protect his loved ones is what made COVID-19 so challenging for him. Much to the relief of his fans, Johnson and his family are feeling good nowadays, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Johnson said they were now on the other end of it, and are no longer contagious. Thanking God for their recovery, he wrote, "we've gotten through COVID-19 stronger and healthier." He shares two daughters Jasmine, 4, and Tiana, 2, with wife Lauren.

In terms of symptoms, the children only had a little sore throat for a couple of days, while Johnson and his wife had a tough time battling the virus, after spending time with some close family friends.

The 6 feet 5 inches tall actor got emotional stating that protecting his family is his number one priority. As a family, the Johnsons are now counting their blessing given that there are slim chances of those infected by the virus getting on the other end stronger and healthier.

Without naming names, Johnson pointed out that some politicians making this idea of wearing masks a part of their political agenda. He insisted that wearing a mask has nothing to do with politics, adding that it is the right thing to do.
