Dwayne Johnson has contracted COVID-19 and the entire family but is already recovering from the virus. The actor informed his fans that his wife, Lauren Hashian, his two daughters, Tiana, 2, and Jasmine, 4, had been contracted with the novel coronavirus.
Usually, actors share a picture and write a long post to deliver the message. However, Johnson delivered the message by uploading an 11 minute and 35-second-long video on his Instagram. The actor revealed that his entire family has been contracted by a close circle of friends and family.
Although the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star said that their family was lucky to help in stopping the chain of spread and immediately went into quarantine. The actor began the video by addressing his fans and followers and said that he wants to give a "helpful update" regarding the coronavirus.
Johnson’s family has been dealing with COVID-19 for the past three weeks. However, the actor went on and informed that his wife and two daughters along with him as been tested positive for coronavirus.
"I could tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family, and for me, too, personally as well…And I've gone through some doozies in the past," the actor explained.
The actor explained that getting COVID-19 is way different compared to healing injuries, being broke, or even evicted. He noted that he has been in such positions a few times and with the experience, he informed everyone to stay safe.
Johnson said that his first priority is to keep his family and loved ones safeguarded. The actor disclosed that his family is doing well and he is grateful that he is "on the other end" while referring to people who are losing their lives.
The 48-year-old explained the seriousness of being home and how strict one has to be in order to prevent themselves from the ongoing pandemic. The actor said he is implementing new safety measures in his house to ensure that everyone remains safe.
The actor admitted that he used to have many friends and close family members come over his place but since the family has been tested positive, Johnson said, he will have his friends tested before leaving the house. Also, he will be testing people before they enter his place again. The actor concluded the video and encouraged fans to maintain discipline.
