Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are, allegedly, accused of leaking Queen Elizabeth’s jewels security secrets.
According to New Idea, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are being held responsible for the recent breach in security.
In the book Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed that Prince Harry and Markle received an eye-watering estimated $6.3 million worth of freebies, holidays, and gifts from their friends.
The authors also said that on top of this, Prince Harry and Markle also put the crown jewels in grave danger. After all, they explained in detail how Markle tried on diadems for her royal wedding.
“Only Harry, Meghan, the queen’s most trusted aide, and the queen herself could have known what went down on that day, so it’s obvious where the leak came from. No one ever talks about that inner sanctum for security reasons, and now the book has essentially handed would-be thieves a map of each cabinet,” the source said.
Staff at Buckingham Palace are, allegedly, furious over the breach and the fact that more money needs to be spent for manpower and security to protect the crown jewels.
“It’s a huge error of judgment by whoever told the authors of that book these details, along with the authors themselves for publishing it. The security detail is beyond stressed and I’ve heard they hold Meghan and Harry personally responsible. Heaven helps them, Omid and Carolyn if any of these historic artifacts are harmed,” the source said.
Last year, Markle and the queen also made headlines in relation to the crown jewels. It was revealed that Her Majesty banned Prince Harry’s wife from wearing jewelry from the Royal Collection.
“This is a surprising situation that has been going on behind the scenes over the past few months and has caused tension and upset, especially for Harry. It is at the discretion of the Queen and trusted advisers which items in the Royal Collection she chooses to loan out and to whom. Aspects of Meghan’s behavior, including before the Royal Wedding, caused resentment with forces within Buckingham Palace. To be perfectly honest, the Queen herself was not impressed with some of Meghan’s demands, especially as a new member of the family. As a result, Buckingham Palace has decided that not all items from the Queen’s royal collection will be opened up to Meghan,” a source said.
