Practicing social distancing and self-isolation are two of the most effective ways to restrict the spread of coronavirus. As a result, everyone, including the royals are resorting to holidaying virtually.
Like the rest of the people around the world, royal family members are celebrating the Easter holiday separately. The Queen's relatives normally meet up the British monarch in Windsor and then attend church. Following the religious services, they reportedly enjoy roast lamb together at lunch, while younger members including Louis, Charlotte, and George participate in a family egg hunt.
But this year, things aren't the same. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, health officials have urged people to practice social distancing, and the royals are not planning to ignore the advice. Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are currently in Los Angeles, while Prince William, Kate and there are reportedly at the Anmer Hall and Prince Charles and Camilla are sequestered at Birkhall, which is located on the Balmoral estate in Scotland.
Queen referenced this segregation during her speech about the COVID-19, which was telecasted last week, Town&County reported. While addressing the viewers, she pointed out that self-isolating can prove to be arduous at times, but people regardless of their faith are discovering that it offers an opportunity to slow down, pause and even reflect either in meditation or prayer.
She said it is imperative for us to bear in mind that better days will return and we will be once again with our friends and our families. Practicing social distancing hasn't stopped the royals from celebrating the holiday on social media.
On Apr. 12, Kensington Palace, which is currently touted as the Kate and William's communication channel, Clarence House, which is the channel of Prince Charles and Camilla, as well as Princess Eugenie all shared nature-centric posts on their Instagram handles, marking the holiday.
Aside from an Easter greeting, Clarence House also reminded people that Prince Charles has recorded Easter Day reading for a new podcast of Westminster Abbey. The Prince of Wales read the Gospel for Easter Day services which were hosted online by Canterbury Cathedral in collaboration with Westminster Abbey.
Earlier this week, the Prince recorded a reading of John 20: 1-18, which focuses on Jesus'resurrection. Princess Eugenie took to her Instagram handle to echo the Queen's televised speech with a caption that quoted Her Majesty's Easter message, May the living flame of the Easter hope be a steady guide as we face our future.'
