Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are under fire after their recent attendance at the Baby2Baby movement in Los Angeles, a non-profit organization that is helping out children during the pandemic. According to many royal commentators, their presence during one of the events of Baby2Baby goes against the couple’s ethos and will only backfire on them.
Baby2Baby was the first event that the couple attended after the lockdown in Los Angeles was eased up. It was an opportunity for the couple to show that they were very present and that they were working with many organizations both in America and abroad.
But according to royal commentators, this was not the case at all, royal commentators believe that the involvement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with Baby2Baby was purely a publicity stunt.
“The issue I have with Baby2Baby, what concerns me, is that yes, on the face of it, that looked exactly like a royal engagement, you can imagine any of the other royals doing it ‒ Charles, Camilla, William, and Kate, handing out baby supplies, speaking to locals ‒ it looked exactly like a royal visit. Now, looking into it, it is literally celeb central, it’s a very popular charity in Los Angeles. And you go onto the website ‒ I had it up earlier ‒ and it’s literally a who's who of who’s been hot over the last year or so ‒ people like Blake Lively, there’s a lot of celebs on there”, Daily Mirror royal editor, Russel Myers said.
The Duke and Duchess were also attacked when news came out that they volunteered for Baby2Baby. Many fans have pointed out that they have copied Kate Middleton’s projects before.
Baby2Baby is a famous non-profit organization and has been supported by many celebrities in the past, such as Blake Lively, Chrissy Teigen, Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gwen Stefani, Kate Hudson, Kristen Bell, Michelle Williams, and many more.
The royal commentators are saying that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex specifically chose Baby2Baby as their first appearance since it already is a ‘Brand name’ organization.
The couple has promised that they well help grassroots organizations to spread awareness and put many issues on a worldwide platform. But their support for Baby2Baby is the opposite of what the couple has preached in the past.
Harry and Meghan are currently involved in numerous organizations right now. The couple has been highly active with virtual conferences both for the Royal Foundation as well for the charities they have been supporting.
