Prince William’s life has been paved out since the day he was born, the Prince at a young age has been told that he will be King someday but despite that, William’s mother, the late Princess Diana made sure that his sons have grown up as normally as possible.

William and Harry were very close to their mother, she was very hands-on with them and her young age also contributed to her understanding the Princes much better than their father did.

The sudden death of Princess Diana in 1997, shocked the world, but what is more heartbreaking was the fact that both Princes, William, and Harry were in a midst of a happy vacation when their father broke the news.

Princess Diana’s funeral procession was televised and was one of the biggest events in the century. Over 2.5 billion people mourned and watched the funeral, while 3 million people were out mourning at the gates of Buckingham Palace.

William, the older of the two Princes has never spoken of his trauma and the death of his mother publicly, but when the Prince became the royal patron of ‘The Child Bereavement Charity’, he openly talked about his mother’s death and how it affected him.

“Never being able to say the word ‘Mummy’ again in your life sounds like a small thing. However, for many, including me, it’s now really just a word – hollow and evoking only memories. Initially, there is a sense of profound shock and disbelief that this could ever happen to you. Real grief often does not hit home until much later. For many, it is grief ever entirely lost.” The prince said during one of his speeches for the foundation.

His brother Prince Harry on the other hand has always been very open about his grieving for the late Princess Diana.

In the wake of Princess Diana’s 23rd death anniversary, the brothers, William and Harry released a very rare joint statement 3 days before her anniversary.

The statement reveals a statue will be put up in their mother’s home, Kensington Palace, in the Sunken Garden as memorabilia to her, as well as to celebrate her 60th birthday.

The statue will be revealed to the public in 2021, which the two princes will be attending.

Rumors of the two princes row have also been up in the airs since earlier this year but they have come together to celebrate the death of the ‘People’s Princess’, the late Princess Diana.
