Even coronavirus-induced lockdowns all over the world have not stopped celebrity couple sightings. Just recently, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and actress Dakota Johnson were seen walking their dog around their Malibu neighborhood.
As reported by Elle, the couple were soon walking arm-in-arm along with Johnson’s dog. The public display of affection was a pretty rare occurrence, as both Martin and Johnson have kept their relationship under wraps since 2017.
Before this public display, the most that the public has seen of the couple was on Olivia Wilde’s Instagram page, where Johnson did a hand-washing challenge but with Martin’s hands. The almost two-minute video had a lot of funny parts in it, with Martin dropping the soap container and spattering soap onto Johnson’s face and hair.
A lot of the information about Martin and Johnson have been reports from sources but never from the couple themselves. Johnson even made a point of emphasizing that she would not talk about the relationship when she was interviewed by Tatler, only saying that she was “very happy.”
Reports have speculated that the pair broke it off the previous year, but Martin’s ex Gwyneth Paltrow worked towards reconciling the two of them.
Other celebrity couples have also caught the attention of the public ever since lockdowns descended on countries around the world due to the coronavirus. For instance, Rupert Grint and partner Georgia Groome’s grocery trip led to the confirmation of Groome’s pregnancy. The pair were out to get supplies as the United Kingdom is currently on lockdown.
Having a less enjoyable lockdown experience is Florence Pugh, who recently had to defend her boyfriend Zach Braff from internet commenters. In the video she posted on Instagram, Pugh accused commenters of “basically bullying” Braff, especially since her photo of the 45-year-old actor was immediately filled with comments shaming the actor. She also asserted that she was a 24-year-old adult that should be left alone when it came to her decisions about who she should be with.
These celebrity couples will probably be spending even more time together as it looks like lockdowns may be extended due to the still-rising cases of coronavirus infections around the globe. In the Apr. 12 situation report posted by the World Health Organization, it revealed that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases is now at 1,696,588 around the world. Globally, the number of deaths is now at 105,952 people.
In the United States, the Apr. 12 update of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention puts the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at 525,704 people. Fatalities caused by COVID-19 in the United States are now at 20,486 people.
