Chadwick Boseman who portrayed Black Panther's title role has passed away at the age of 43. The Marvel cast remembers the actor following his death due to colon cancer. Boseman was struggling with cancer for the past four years.
Black Panther and Avengers' cast took their respective social media handles to mourn the death of their beloved friend. Each star shared their personal encounter with the actor and spoke about his work ethics and kindness.
Boseman's on-screen mother in Black Panther, Angela Bassett who portrayed Ramonda's character wrote a long message on her Instagram and revealed their bonding. Bassett said that it wasn't surprising for her to bond with the actor and soon turn into family.
The 62-year-old informed fans that the on-screen mother and son duo had a long history even before they started working together on the iconic Marvel franchise. She said that during the Black Panther's premiere event, Chadwick revealed something that surprised her.
He disclosed that during his Howard University's honorary degree, he was the escort student assigned to Bassett. Now, after several years they both worked together as colleagues and friends while celebrating the most glorious event of their careers.
"We’d spent weeks prepping, working, sitting next to each other every morning in makeup chairs, preparing for the day together as mother and son. I am honored that we enjoyed that full circle experience," she wrote on her Instagram.
Apart from Bassett, other co-stars who worked with Boseman took their social media to tribute the actor. Chris Hemsworth who portrayed Thor said that he is going to miss him and the news is heartbreaking.
Hemsworth further revealed that Boseman was one of the most genuine and kindest people he has ever come across. The 37-year-old actor sends love to the actor's family and prayed for peace. Chris Evan who plays Captain America also shared pictures with the actor on Instagram and said that he is devastated and the news is heartbreaking.
Boseman was original and special to him. He addressed him as a curious and committed artist. Mark Ruffalo tweeted that this year has become worse than before referring to Boseman's demise. He appreciated the talent of the actor and said that it was just the beginning.
