Numerous fans are, already, thrilled about the upcoming return of the popular American urban fantasy television series. Netflix has completed releasing the first batch of episodes and avid viewers of the show could not wait for the second wave. Fortunately, Tom Ellis shared an update on when Lucifer Season 5 Episode 9 would be out.
During an interview with the Pilot TV Podcast, the 41-year-old American actor admitted that he does not know when the second batch of episodes, including Lucifer Season 5 Episode 9, would drop since they still got the finale.
Tom, however, revealed that the production would go straight into the sixth installment when they go back to filming. He is hopeful that the cast and crew would be ready to go by Christmas 2020 or in early 2021.
Showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich, also, revealed some juicy details about the future of the show. Henderson told Entertainment Tonight that Lucifer Season 5 Episode 9 and the rest would be the “most emotional” in the history of the show. He even stated that Season 5B would be both darker and brighter than the previous batch of episodes.
"This is a family story. Dad's home and he's not happy with what his kids have been up to. That is so much of what we will explore in 5B is just that family relationship, and the emotional aspects of that,” Henderson shared, as per Digital Spy.
In a more recent interview, according to Daily Express, Henderson and Modrovich divulged that Lucifer Season 5 Episode 9 and the rest of the Season 5B episodes would be released as soon as they are done with it. Though both remain clueless as to when this would happen, they assured that “there are always talks” and that they are still working on it amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The challenge, as stated by the showrunners, is how do they maintain the show’s high ratings and make sure that the entire cast and crew are safe from the deadly coronavirus. They added that they are, also, trying to figure out how to make a good show for the viewers.
Meanwhile, Cartermatt shared that the December 2020 or early 2021 release date of Lucifer Season 5 Episode 9 is something that they have been speculating about for quite some time now. The entertainment news publication stated that it is a very “valuable release window for Netflix” since most people are staying at home while enjoying the holidays and their Christmas vacation.
