A petition against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been circulating online recently, the petition, which was made on the famous petition site ‘Change.org’ has been gathering signatures and is now almost at their goal number of signatures.
The petition is titled ‘Meghan Markle & Just Harry, please stop flooding American Press’. This campaign seems to have started after both Meghan and Harry decidedly become more active in the United States.
After their decision of leaving the Royal family and their duties as senior royals, the two have been laying quite low. Firstly, living in Canada for a few months.
The couple has been complaining about their privacy being adamantly abused by the constant paparazzi and tabloid stories in the UK. Some of the people who signed the petition commented that their decision to leave the UK and come to the US has been the exact opposite of being private.
“Meghan Markle and just Harry complained that they wanted privacy in the UK. They also claimed that they were not thriving and the press caused them so much distress so they went to Canada. Nobody is quite sure what Canada did to them, but since then, they have descended upon the paparazzi hotspot of Los Angeles,” the petition stated.
Harry and Meghan have been all over the newspapers and television since they increased their activities in the US.
The couple has been recently seen helping out ‘Baby2Baby’ in Los Angeles. Meghan was also involved in the initiative ‘When All Women Vote’, which gathered major criticisms from other celebrities.
The petition has already gained around 650 signatures, with a goal signature number of 1000. Although the petition has little chance of actually getting the Sussex’ off the press, it did send out a message.
The couple has been doing a lot of charities and virtual engagements since moving to the US. Meghan who is again creating a buzz after a teaser by the media production company, MAKER, was released today.
The teaser shows a conversation between Meghan Markle and famous feminist and Author Gloria Steinem, which they are to discuss voting, representation.
Despite Meghan’s tedious work in spreading awareness, especially with women voting has gathered backlash. With the interview teaser being reviewed today, a fresh wave of doubters and critics have attacked Meghan.
The couple also created some tension when they decided to buy a $14.7 million estate in Montecito, Santa Barbara, California.
