Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to the United States from the United Kingdom, possibilities have been looming around that the royal pair may join the entertainment industry. The Sussexes have also dropped a few hints of them being interested in being a part of the cinematic world.
They gave knocks at the doors of multiple production houses to present their project ideas. As it was all going on, royal fans didn’t expect the day to be around soon – they thought it would probably take a year or so.
But Prince Harry has proved the doubts wrong. As a matter of fact, Harry has made his big-screen debut at Netflix. Released today, the movie that celebrates the Paralympics movement, Rising Phoenix features Prince Harry in the starring role.
The production company behind the project HTYT Films has confirmed that Harry didn’t charge a fee for the project and it's because the film is highlighting a very significant part of an athlete’s life.
Talking about the growing significance of Paralympics, the Duke said, "A lot of people, based on what they'd been told, thought it was going to be a failure and that they weren't going to be able to sell tickets. The stadiums were packed. The sport was incredible. And what they saw was undoubtedly better than the Olympics themselves."
Harry added on to say that the sports has changed the lives of those on the field and those on the stands alike.
This may not be one of those projects as royal fans had been expecting, but there is no doubt that Rising Phoenix is possibly the best way to start.
Both the Duke and Duchess have been working hard to make a positive change – through their charity, work, and overall efforts. Just a week back, Meghan appeared with Michelle Obama urging women to vote. Her speech was hailed as an influential one as she equated those who don’t vote with troublemakers.
Back at home, Prince William is also involved in underlining the significance of the psychological aspect of the sports. It’s more like – royals doing the royal duty. It’s encouraging to know that Prince Harry has been actively participating in good causes and Meghan is following the good work.
Prince Harry has officially made his big-screen debut with Rising Phoenix that released in 190 countries - certainly a big start. It’ll be interesting to see where he goes from here.
