In a recently published New York Times op-ed, Former Vice President Joe Biden asked for far-flung testing and a continuation to social distancing restrictions. Biden divulged more details about his plan to reopen America without jeopardizing people's lives amid the coronavirus pandemic.

With a new debate about whether or not May 1st is an ideal date for reviving US economy budding in Trump administration, Biden has come up with his strategy. Given that the curve is flattening, Trump is asking in meeting why shouldn't some people be permitted to return to work, sources say.

Biden, on the other hand, suggests a slew of aggressive measures before the country can reopen more businesses and ask people to return to their work. Aside from suggesting the need for widespread testing, the former vice president said people must continue practicing social distancing while taking full advantage of the Defense Production Act.

Aside from that, Biden said it is important to make sure hospitals are well-equipped to handle an upsurge of the disease that may occur as soon as multiple businesses reopen. As public health experts have indicated, things are highly unlikely to return to normal immediately, which means, activities will return gradually.

Biden suggests sites like stores and offices should reopen before public places such as theaters and arenas. During a phone call with the President earlier this month, Biden had pointed the aforesaid reasoning as part of the federal response to the pandemic.

He laid out four to five necessary points while stating that it is about taking responsibility as the commander-in-chief. He refrained from divulging more details about what they talked about but said "we had a good conversation" to CNN's Chris Cuomo on Prime Time.

Placing entire responsibility on Trump and his administration, Biden shared a tweet that read, "as we prepare to reopen America, we have to remember what this crisis has taught us." Pointing out the administration's previous mistakes that led to catastrophic results, Biden said the country cannot afford to repeat them.

Furthermore, he noted that there's no dearth of tools, expertise, and experience and pointed out that Americans have already paid a hefty price in the form of illness, deaths and economic loss. Biden also suggested that the White House has to get it right this time.

Independent Candidate for Congress Steve Cox replied to his tweet with a link to a report on Newsweek about Biden's sexual assault accuser Tara Reade filing a criminal complaint against the former vice president.
