In recent weeks, both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been actively joining virtual engagement with multiple movements and organizations. The couple who announced their decision of stepping down from their royal duties have yet to slow down on their charity work, instead, they have only been more active since they left the British Monarchy.
Now, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on a different road, but will they stay on the same track? The answer might surprise you.
Famous royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliam, believes that the couple is going in two different ways and that this works best for the tandem.
Meghan Markle has been more outspoken and involved in political matters, which she eloquently manages, while Prince Harry stirs away from political matters.
As a matter of fact, Meghan Markle recently joined ‘When All Women Vote’ initiative, an initiative co-founded by former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.
The initiative aims to encourage women to go out and vote on the next US presidential elections in November. Meghan Markle spoke about change and complicity in her virtual speech.
Meghan Markle has also been involved in many other activist movements, in the past months, she has been very outspoken about the Black Lives Matter movement, which is said to be a movement very close to her heart and to Prince Harry’s.
Prince Harry on the other hand has yet to say anything on political matters, the Prince has other issues he is tackling and other movements he truly cares about.
The Prince has always been a big supporter of the Invictus Game, which he has been involved in for many years now. He did a short cameo for a Netflix original documentary movie about the Paralympics.
Prince Harry is also an avid supporter of movements that aim to spread awareness on Mental health issues, he is joined by his brother, Prince William on this.
"Harry is on a journey which is very 'woke.’ Apart from Invictus and mental health, he will champion other charitable causes but will avoid party politics. Meghan’s case is unique. She would obviously be superb as a political activist campaigning on issues such as gender equality and diversity,” Mr. Fitzwilliam commented.
The couple has been working on there very own charity as well, called Archwell, after their firstborn, Archie. The charity has been on the works for months but has recently been halted due to the pandemic.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now based in Santa Barbara, California.
