Piers Morgan’s attack on Meghan Markle has created quite a buzz in the celebrity society. Recently, Meghan Markle was doing a virtual engagement for the initiative ‘When All Women Vote’. This initiative is co-founded by former First Lady Of The United States, Michelle Obama, which Meghan Markle has been aggressively involved in.
Meghan’s speech and comments on the recent political climate in the US caught Piers Morgan’s attention of which he immediately criticized.
The Duchess’ speech included talks on the change as well as woman’s voter suppression. She talked about complicity, sending a message to women around the US that not voting on the upcoming presidential elections is being complicit as well as being complacent on the matter.
Mr. Morgan tweeted that the Duchess should get her title stripped off due to her meddling in politics. This tweet did not go down so well for many celebrities with many coming in to defend Meghan on her speech.
Famous actress Bett Middler did not hold back, tweeting ‘F*ck off’ at Piers Morgan.
Bett Middler has been very active with tweeting and calling out current President of the United States on his shortcomings. The 74-year-old actress is an outspoken critic of Trump's.
Mr. Morgan then retaliated with a tweet that only says ‘be kind’.
Ms. Middler then continued to defend Meghan Markle as the tabloid ‘The Sun’ tweeted about Meghan.
The upcoming US elections are on November, a few months away. Many actors and actresses, as well as known names, have come out of the woodworks to show their support for their presidential choice.
Meghan in her speech talked about the importance of voting in November. “When I think about voting and why this is so exceptionally important for all of us, I would frame it as we vote to honor those who came before us and to protect those who will come after us. We're only 75 days away from election day and that is so very close, and yet there's so much work to be done in that amount of time because we all know what's at stake this year,” Meghan said during her talk.
The Duchess then continued to talk about attempts of voter suppression and how it is dividing the women and how important it is to be supporting one another during these times.
Meghan joining the political rally is a questionable act, as a Royal, she is no longer supposedly allowed to side on a political matter. The royals are to be expected to stay neutral with politics.
