Throughout the course of his presidency, President Donald Trump hasn’t left a single question unanswered - not only questions but also steps taken in favor or against of Trump have also been addressed.
Similarly, when Goodyear tires glued a ban on the use of attire with the slogan "Make America Great Again" flashing up within the company premises, Trump had to respond to that. This time, the President’s reaction was rather aggressive – kind of like, tit for tat.
With immediate effect, Trump called for the boycott of Goodyear products. Surprisingly, it worked just as the President expected - Goodyear tire sale plunged significantly afterward. Trump got the leading tire brand in the doghouse.
President Trump tweeted on Wednesday, expressing his will to go one on one with the manufacturer, "Don't buy GOODYEAR TIRES - They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less!" In addition to the tweet, Trump told that he would be in so much support of people who would give a thumbs-down to Goodyear and their products.
Los Angeles Lakers legend, LeBron James who hails from the city of Goodyear HQ, Akron, Ohio – didn’t quite like the President’s move. On previous occasions also, there have been instances where James and POTUS weren’t on the same page that resulted in notorious public bouts.
This time was no different, James, without directly aiming Trump, gave a huge meaning and description of the company, location, and all about it.
The Basketball star said that Akron’s people “don’t bend, fold or break for nobody,” they are always united and strong and the same goes for Goodyear. James also revealed what Goodyear means to him and people of America, saying that Goodyear has been one of a kind, great for the city and the entire country – an “unbelievable brand” with an “unbelievable history.”
Giving Trump a bitter taste, James said, “Shout out, salute to all the workers, the men and women of Goodyear over the course of its history. And to the city of Akron."
It’s nothing strange as history is suggestive that Trump and famous personalities don’t quite go hand in hand. A few days back, Grammy award-winning singer, Billie Eilish openly urged people of America to vote for Trump’s opponent Joe Biden.
Despite all the fiery criticisms, Trump has been carrying hopes to turn the table against Biden. At DNC, Biden seems to have gotten a major lead, but Trump would want to repeat what he did in 2016.
