Also known as the Bangtan Boys, the South Korean boy band, BTS has put an end to the long wait - for their new song with a single titled Dynamite. All wise to say that BTS is back with a bang – leaving the runner-up in the dust, BTS’s Dynamite has become, by far, the biggest YouTube premiere ever.

Not only that but the pace of views is suggestive that the song may become the most-viewed video ever in the first 24-hour category in YouTube’s history. The K-pop group put the song live at midnight EST and straight away it was off to a meteoric start.

The concurrent viewership for the debut was mind-boggling with 3 million viewers at the start – and the count immediately reached atop 4 million in the first refresh. Exact numbers have yet to be disclosed by the online video streaming platform, but it fell someplace between 3 and 4 million – which makes Dynamite the biggest YouTube premiere ever, potentially doubling the former record.

The record formerly belonged to BTS’s female counterpart, the K-pop girl band Blackpink for How You Like That which, according to YouTube drew 1.66 million concurrent viewership on its debut.

Dynamite is BTS’s first English-language song - which wasn’t initially planned, but COVID-19 lockdowns pushed the band to roll out a track to keep the energy of their fans going. According to the most fluent member of BTS, RM, the guys couldn’t contain the energy of their first English song, so they wanted the world to be a part of it intermittently. RM said, “We really wanted to share this energy with the fans as soon as possible.”

It’s no wonder, BTS, since its inception, has been the talk of the pop-culture town.  As a matter of fact, they started their journey breaking records –  even when they began, they managed to get their debut album 2 Cool 4 Skool peak at number five in South Korea.

The band has since moved upward and with the release of Dynamite, their international appeal is certain to observe a serious surge. In addition, the prospects of Billboard Hot 100 are favorable as fans seem too intrigued to settle for anything below #1 for BTS’s latest single.

For fans, it's a great piece of news that Dynamite is immediately expanding from just YouTube. The TV premiere performance of the song will take place on Aug. 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT at the 2020 MTV Music Video Awards. No doubt about it, BTS is one of the top contenders of the top slot of charts.
