Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen has launched a new single called "Me and the Boys in the Band." Billboard has reported that this is a tribute to her former lifestyle, where she, along with her bandmates, can drive all night and be a brand new girl the next day, which also appears to be part of the original track's lyrics.

To lead the release, Carly flaunted a video for the song just chilling at home and her touring band dancing from corresponding living spaces and some photos from their tours across the screen. The visual also showed footage of her bandmates in isolation performing separately.  

According to Rolling Stone, Carly said in a statement that being on the road was a life. She misses traveling and performing with her bandmates were along the years have become family to her like adopted brothers. Moreover, the 'Call Me Maybe' singer would always find herself in a late-night head-to-head with her band through good and bad romantic relationships. She dedicates the song to all the shows they have played and yet to play. She recalls their late-night dancings during their long bus drives and suddenly becomes tourists when the morning comes. 

Just this May, Carly surprised her fans with her new album release. On a Los Angeles Times report, "Dedicated: Side B," which happens to be a companion piece to Carly's 2019 album "Dedicated." She confirmed the surprise on Twitter, saying that she is a lousy keeper of secrets, and part 2 of "Dedicated" is out.

The album has twelve songs that feature Jack Antonoff, the lead singer of indie-pop band Bleachers, Ariel Rechtshaid, an American record producer, audio engineer, mixing engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter, and Dev Hynes of Blood Orange and John Hill.

Carly also mentioned that she might have made an entire quarantine album after dropping "Dedicated: Side B." On May 17, she celebrated the first anniversary of "Dedicated" by posting visuals with the words "Happy Birthday Dedicated," leaving the letter "B" blinking on the screen.

Carly Jepsen will celebrate the fifth anniversary of her applauded album "Emotion" with a virtual karaoke party. It will be aired on YouTube on August 27 at 6:00 ET. This event will hallmark home videos of fans singing and dancing to Jepsen's tracks from the said album. As announced on Bandwagon, Carly has also released exclusive anniversary merch and t-shirts, beach towel, fanny pack, and a scrunchie.
