Tom Cruise is, allegedly, being encouraged to update his last will and testament amid fears that he could die on set.
The filming for Mission: Impossible 7 was halted in February due to the coronavirus pandemic. Cruise’s upcoming project was supposed to be released in July 2021, but it was, reportedly, pushed back to November 2021.
According to Woman’s Day, Cruise insists on doing the dangerous stunts by himself. And he doesn’t want to hire a stuntman.
“With technological advances in filmmaking, the studios are under more pressure to make action sequences crazier than ever. Especially on something like the new Mission: Impossible film, which Tom is working on right now,” the source said.
The insider also said that since Cruise is worth too much, the insurance for him is sky-high. And there is, allegedly, an inside joke on the set of the movie that no one wants to be in charge of the actor’s parachute.
And since he wants to keep doing his own stunts, Cruise was, allegedly, advised to update his last will and testament in case something happens.
“Tom was shocked. He’s never really thought about his own mortality before. But when you look at it, his estate would have a lot of people crawling out of the woodwork, so he’d want it to be airtight,” the source said.
The tabloid revealed that Cruise is worth $790 million, and his three children have the right to an inheritance if something happens to him. However, it is, allegedly, with Suri and his kids with Nicole Kidman where things could become complicated.
“Even that will be a minefield. He’s closest to Connor and lives near him for most of the year in Clearwater. He’s also close to Bella, but she tends not to like a celebrity and lives a very low-key lifestyle in London. Suri’s where it could get murky. I could see him withholding an inheritance from her so Katie doesn’t get her hands on it,” the source said.
Rumors that Cruise and Katie Holmes are at odds with each other have been rife for months. There have also been claims that the actress is struggling with her finances.
As such, Suri’s inheritance from her dad could, reportedly, help the Dawson’s Creek star a lot.
However, one should take the claims made by the tabloid with a grain of salt. No one knows for sure if Cruise is updating his will right now.
