It seems that Prince Philip is more vulnerable to COVID-19 because of his medical history. Some experts have explained the reason why Queen Elizabeth II did not go to the hospital to meet her husband last year.

According to an expert, Philip is more vulnerable to COVID-19. Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh are in self-isolation in the Windsor Castle. Dr. Diana Gall who is associated with an online service called “Doctor 4 U” mentions that the prince’s past medical history makes him more vulnerable to the deadly virus.

Gall told Express that the Duke of Edinburgh had previously suffered from some health problems. These problems combined with his advanced age make him more susceptible to the virus.

The doctor added that many are aware of the prince being hospitalized in recent years for suffering from bladder infections. However, there is no proof that such health problems would put him at a higher risk of catching the virus unless he has been “immunocompromised.”

It was in December last year when Prince Philip was hospitalized in the King Edward VII Hospital in London. His admission to the hospital came only a few days before last Christmas.

The palace remained noncommittal about the reason for his admission. However, they did mention that the move to transfer the Queen’s husband was simply a “precautionary measure.” His physician had advised him to do so because of his pre-existing condition.

According to a report published by the People magazine, a source told them that the prince was doing fine and did not travel to the hospital last year by ambulance. The Duke’s admission to the hospital then was a planned one and was not any kind of emergency case. He did not require any aid and could walk into the hospital then.

Queen Elizabeth II did not go to the hospital to meet her husband where the latter stayed for two days. Victoria Arbiter, a royal expert had then tweeted that the royals do not visit one another in hospitals while responding to some horrible comments.

The expert had further said that the security requirements could disrupt the functioning of the hospital. Also, they do not want to cause stress to all those other patients who are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Meanwhile, Dr. Diana Gall has warned the youths to take the virus seriously. She mentioned that even younger people are suffering from COVID-19. So, apart from Queen Elizabeth II’s husband Prince Philip, the younger royal family members should also follow precautions like social distancing.
