Donald Trump’s opponent and presidential candidate, Joe Biden has a good reason to be in high-spirts, the reason being the favorable poll results.

Multiple polls have shown the possibility of Biden defeating Trump in not-a-very-close vote battle. The point must be understood well - Biden is performing good and the president is trailing badly in the polls are two very different things that lead to only one situation i.e. defeat for Trump and presidency for Biden.

It’s is all but clear that Americans are not very psyched up for Biden, but Trump’s crummy performance especially the mishandling of coronavirus crisis and Black Lives Matter protests have done the job for him. However, there is much more than just two factors for an American citizen’s disapproval of the President.

Over the past four years, the approval ratings for Trump have been steady and good, but unlike Obama, Trump didn’t pull off any impossible task - and what he did, attracted more infamy than fame such as the building of border wall with Mexico.

It is interesting to note that Trump, today, is more popular than he was during the 2016 election campaigns, yet he managed to win. But another side of the story is not so encouraging for the President – Joe Biden’s approval rating is -1 compared to Hillary Clinton’s -17 in 2016, therefore there may be a tough competition between Trump and Biden, despite what the polls reflect.

The core of the story is that whatever happens will happen majorly because of Trump without much of an impact from Biden. For example, if he loses, it’ll be because his administration couldn’t stem the spread of the virus and failed badly at the most important time of the country, and in case, he wins, it can be attributed to his quick nature of working and decision making.

Biden’s choice of Kamala Harris to be his presidential running mate has certainly proliferated his odds of victory as Harris is the first black woman to be chosen for such a huge role in America’s history. But Trump has found a way to address that too.

For the bulk of the campaign, Trump has taken a jab at Biden and his team. The President has dubbed him as "Sleepy Joe" and Bernie Sanders as "Crazy." On the other hand, Biden has only adhered to the main principles of politics i.e. inoffensiveness.  Although the wind is blowing towards Biden, it’s hard to say who’ll win, given last year’s incredible turnaround.
