An actor’s career features joys, success, failure, and of course regrets. A number of stories are prepared – the script is shared to an actor, the actor may choose to sign it or drop it. The dropped projects, oftentimes turn out to be a grand success for another actor and hence a regret for the other.
Brie Larson is no exception in this regard - but the difference is that she didn't wave goodbye to scripts, instead, she got rejected in multiple auditions and now she is counting Hollywood roles that she thought she had almost got.
In a new YouTube vlog, the actress reflects on major Hollywood projects that she had a chance of being a part of. Brie kicks off the video with a very interesting part of an actor’s career i.e. auditions. She has briefly talked about how difficult it is to pull off the auditions.
The actress recalled that she had been auditioning for roles in films since she was only seven. Highlighting the stress of auditions, Brie advanced towards her first big Hollywood chop. The actress said that she auditioned for the role of a prostitute who was homeless and didn’t have many people in her life to count on.
According to Brie, she had given her all to the preparation and after the audition was over she thought she had “completely nailed it.” In fact, the casting director wasn’t so impressed, so he instead put the role in Vanessa Hudgen’s pocket. The movie was The Frozen Ground that premiered in 2013.
After that, Brie felt like taking a crack of the Terminator Genisys which premiered in theaters in 2015. On the day of the audition, she got a flat tire, but still somehow managed to do the audition. A few days later she got to know she had been turned down because the casting director thought she couldn't hold a gun.
Post that, Brie lost a string of important roles in important projects including the role of the little sister in Disney’s Smart House, The Big Bang Theory’s Penny, The Hunger Games’ role that went to Jennifer Lawrence, Star Wars film, Tomorrowland, and really whatnot.
But the one that she still regrets losing the most is the little sister in Disney’s Smart House. She calls that a “big bummer.”
It’s a great show of gesture from Captain Marvel star who decided to take some time out to talk about it. Nobody talks about them, do they?
