Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are very protective of their only son, Archie. And they have been adamant at making sure that he would grow up in a safe environment.
In the book Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan, and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand detailed an incident involving Archie’s first nanny.
The authors revealed that unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Sussexes opted to hire a day time nanny, who only worked on weekends. Despite the nanny’s limited time with Archie, she will, reportedly, manage to cause problems in the household.
While the authors didn’t detail what exactly happened between the nanny and the Sussexes, they said the former employee was unprofessional and irresponsible.
“They decided to hire a night nurse to establish a sleep schedule and be an extra pair of helping hands. But their time with the couple was brief. Meghan and Harry were forced to let the nurse go in the middle of her second night for being unprofessional and irresponsible,” they said.
Shortly after, the Sussexes hired a second nanny but things didn’t also work out for them. After all, the previous incident with the first nanny, reportedly, left them on edge.
Prince Harry and Markle found themselves constantly checking up on Archie even though there was a nanny around.
As of late, it is unclear if the Sussexes still have a daytime nanny for Archie. But the authors said that Prince Harry and Markle don’t want to have a lot of people insider their home, especially at night.
Harry and Meghan had agreed that they didn't want their home filled with staff. Harry had seen that situation at William's home and didn't want the same for his family. He and Meghan liked the idea that when they went to bed at night, it was just the three of them in the house. Cozy and private,” they said.
Meanwhile, Markle, reportedly, told one source that she didn’t care about the criticisms she received for trying to give Archie a private life. Markle, reportedly, doesn’t understand which mother won’t do the same for their child.
Scobie and Durand previously revealed that they didn’t interview Prince Harry and Markle for the book. But royal experts have been saying that the royal couple had their prints all over the publication.
