Fans are aware of the recent meltdown of Kanye West and how it had created marital discord between him and his wife Kim Kardashian. A tabloid now claims that his actions were a conspiracy to increase the ratings of the reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
A magazine insists that the rapper’s recent public breakdowns were just a plan to boost the ratings of KUWTK. The publication did what the reality TV icon requested the media not to do. Kardashian had asked the media to not exploit her husband’s mental health in their reports and show empathy to the family.
The publication purports via an unnamed source that the hip-hop star’s “meltdowns” are what Keeping Up with the Kardashians require to improve its rating. The insider added that the rapper’s breakdown will ensure more people being curious about the show when it is aired once again.
The story has not represented the show’s current status accurately. It mentioned that the premiere of the latest season had only 1 million views as compared to five million viewers who watched it when the show made its debut in 2007.
However, almost all TV shows had their ratings down since 2007. Also, ratings for KUWTK Season 18 are almost the same as its previous season. The show still features in the list of the top 10 shows cable rating. As such, West does not have to go through meltdowns to boost the show’s rating.
The same tabloid published false stories about Kanye West in the past. It reported that the musician is all set to become a painter and will quit his music career soon. While the rapper is passionate about fashion, he is yet to embark upon a career in painting.
The magazine had also published a story about the possibility of a $600 million divorce between Kim Kardashian and her husband, which never happened.
Meanwhile, West has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and his mental state has been a source of great curiosity among the public. He and his wife have been candid about his mental condition in the past and how that has affected his relationship with family and friends.
The beauty mogul had posted a statement on her Instagram account where she urged people and the media to show them empathy and compassion, Variety reports.
When Gossip Cop contacted a spokesperson of Kanye West, they were told the story was completely false. It was further informed that the tabloid was trying to misuse the rapper’s severe mental condition.
