Prince Harry had high hopes for himself and his wife, Meghan Markle.

After they tied the knot, the Duke of Sussex, allegedly, hopes that he and Markle would be regarded as a power couple in the royal family.

Prince Harry waited years to find his match, and he immediately wanted to settle down after dating Markle for a few months.

Unfortunately, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex never became a power couple for the royal family. In fact, the title still remains with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

According to Us Weekly, Prince Harry’s plans to become a power couple backfired. And everyone ended up criticizing him and his wife.

“From Harry’s point of view, Meghan, like Kate, ticked all the boxes – she was elegant, kind, professional, hardworking, and a philanthropist,” the source said.

However, it seemed as though Prince Harry was the only one who saw Markle this way. The royal family, allegedly, criticized the Suits alum, and they also picked on her every move.

Markle’s spending was questioned, and they slammed her for breaking royal protocol. However, the royal family seemingly turned a blind eye whenever Middleton was the one that would make mistakes.

“Harry blamed his grandmother, his father, Charles, William, and Kate for not doing enough to defend Meghan. Harry’s a very complicated man and always will be. But running away from your problem is never the answer. And despite his feeling like the whole world’s against him and Meghan, his friends, and loved ones do want to see him happy,” the source said.

Prince Harry and Markle announced their Megxit in January. In the book Finding Freedom, it was revealed that the Sussexes tried to talk to Queen Elizabeth beforehand. However, their meeting with the monarch was postponed.

According to New Idea, the queen purposely delayed the meeting because she wanted Markle to return to Canada. The queen, reportedly, wanted to just talk to Prince Harry so that she could convince him to stay in the United Kingdom.

Today, Prince Harry and Markle are living in Los Angeles with their 1-year-old son, Archie. They are away from the royal family, but not from the countless controversies surrounding them.

Weeks ago, it was revealed that Markle lost the first round of a High Court case against the publisher of Mail on Sunday in May.

But even if this was the case, a source told the publication that Markle and Prince Harry aren’t discouraged but they are disappointed.
