Many fans were shocked when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their decision to ditch the royal life for good earlier this year. Amid the endless criticisms and disparagements they have received, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to stay away from the limelight so they could focus on their family, especially raising their only son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

However, most followers of the Sussex pair remain clueless as to what really happened between the couple and the Royal Family. Daily Express, recently, claimed that Queen Elizabeth was supportive of Prince Harry’s decision to step back from being a senior royal and made it clear that she would always support her grandson.

Reports have it that Queen Elizabeth had a private lunch with Prince Harry on March 1. At the time, as per the “Finding Freedom” book, the two royals decided to take a break from their hectic schedules to sit down and talk about the bombshell exit. An aide even said there were “no titles” during the said meeting -- “just granny and grandson.”

While most followers of the royal family expected that Her Majesty will be infuriated with the Duke of Sussex’s decision, she, reportedly, assured Harry that she would, always, care and support him in whatever he decided to do.

“Sunday was the first time the Queen has had the chance to talk to Harry on his own and really find out what his plans are. It was a much more relaxed environment and they were both able to speak their mind," an unnamed royal source claimed.

However, it was, also, claimed that, initially, Queen Elizabeth was “upset” about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s sudden change of hearts as she would love to see them living in the palace with Archie. But, Her Majesty has, reportedly, accepted the fact that her grandson has, already, made up his mind and that he plans to live in North America.

Both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry have yet to comment on the Sussex couple’s unofficial biography. Hence, avid fans of the royal family may take these speculations and unverified claims with a grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth shared a touching post ahead of Princess Anne’s milestone event. Her Majesty, via the Royal Family’s official Instagram account, announced that she would be posting snaps of the Princess Royal from every decade of her life in the next seven days. Princess Anne will turn 70 on August 15.
