Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are still being pitted against each other even though the latter is no longer considered as a senior working royal.
New Idea, recently claimed that Middleton decided to give a tell-all interview about Markle before the release of Finding Freedom.
However, Gossip Cop quickly debunked the claims. The publication said that Middleton didn’t give an exclusive tell-all about Markle. And she didn’t also break down in tears or collapse.
The rumor-debunking site also outed the publication for publishing dubious stories about the royal family, particularly of Markle and Prince Harry.
“If they don’t condemn the content, we can assume they have no problem with the narrative,” the tabloid said.
However, Gossip Cop pointed out that this statement suggests that all their stories are true unless specifically denied.
In the past, the tabloid also claimed Prince Harry left his wife alone during the coronavirus pandemic. Weeks later, New Idea also claimed that the Sussexes were on the brink of divorce following Markle’s second pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle also made headlines this week amid claims that he reads the comments section on the stories that are written about him and his wife.
In Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand said that Prince Harry can’t sometimes stop himself from scrolling through his iPhone to check the comments section of the articles.
“Harry regretted opening the link. His stomach tied into the same knot every time he saw these sorts of comments. 'It’s a sick part of the society we live in today, and no one is doing anything about it,' he continued. 'Where’s the positivity? Why is everyone so miserable and angry?’” they said.
Scobie and Durand aren’t the first two people to say that Prince Harry reads what’s written about him online.
While speaking with Cosmopolitan, royal author Duncan Larcombe said that the Duke of Sussexes does this religiously.
“I was always surprised at just how religiously he reads stuff that’s written about him. I think Prince Charles hasn’t read a newspaper in years but Harry, and to some extent William, they almost read everything that’s written. It’s a sign that probably deep down he is worried about what people think of him,” he said.
In 2006, Prince Harry made the same comment during his visit to Lesotho. He said that he wants to know what people are saying about him.
