Lately, with a series of uncommon decisions about their charitable foundation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have left royal fans baffled.
Last year, in July, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry started a not-for-profit organization Sussex Royal Foundation – in collaboration with the fellow royal pair Kate Middleton and Prince William. However, only after a year, a new decision to dismantle the Sussex Royal was made. Apparently, the Sussexes carry a new plan to resume their charitable endeavors.
The royal pair has changed the name of their first charitable foundation to an ununderstandable acronym MWX Foundation.
The name can be interpreted in a lot of ways, but as on now, there is no correct information regarding its true intended meaning. However, as the Sussexes have shed light on the meaning of their next project’s title Archewell, the detailed definition of the MWX Foundation may be expected soon.
Last week, the royal pair applied for a change of their charity's name, but right after 9 minutes, they withdrew their request. As the news of their request to change the name got known to royal fans, they were sent into a frenzy.
The social media platforms were bombarded with tons of questions asked by Twitter users and royal followers. One asked an obvious question, “Why would a dissolving company need to change its name?” Many others had similar questions in their head.
The answers to the questions could be found on their website SussexRoyal.com. In February, the royal pair wrote that they don’t intend to begin a new foundation instead they plan to discover a new way to join and ‘complement the efforts’ made by driven organizations to make a positive change across the globe. Currently, the Sussex Royal Foundation is in the liquidation state, as per the Companies House website.
The pair added that despite no royal jurisdiction over the use of the word ‘Royal’, they would like to drop ‘Sussex Royal’ or any iteration of the word ‘Royal’ for their future ventures in any part of the world.
Considering what the Sussexes have to say about the situation, their moves can be understood as a part of their long-going effort to remove the royal references in their personal and professional life as well as to live more independently.
Although it may sound strange that a company is changing its name while on its way to being disappeared, it seems likely that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on the lookout for long-term solutions.
