Bryan Callen denied all the sexual misconduct allegations. The comedian took social media to address the issue and denied all the accusations again. However, the 53-year-old disclosed that he will no more appear on his podcast, The Fighter and The Kid.
Los Angeles Times published an article on July 31 in which four women accused the comedian on the record and revealed their respective stories. The allegations revealed how inappropriately he treated these four women. Callen refused to accept any of the claims that were dated to 1999.
The Hangover star previously denied all the allegations through a lengthy press release. Fans expected the comedian to reveal the details of the accusations on The Fighter and The Kid. Rather than discussing further on his podcast, it seemed Callen believes social media is a better option.
As a result, the comedian released a new declaration through his Instagram. Callen was impassioned in this video that explained why he took this decision. The comedian said that when someone is in a situation like this then, often receive suggestions from different people.
However, he categorized these people into two and explained that one group of people will ask you to release an official statement and then be unavailable for the comment. While there is another group of people who advise staying low.
Callen revealed that both the suggestions might be good or bad for him but he decides to accept none of them. The comedian said that he would have never thought of defending himself for something that he hasn’t done. In the video, he ensured that the accusations were dated over two decades.
"I categorically and absolutely deny all the allegations against me. I wanted you to see me say that, I didn't want to post some stale statements. I wanted you to hear that come out of my mouth. Those are not things that I could do, those are not things that I would ever do," he added.
The comedian made it clear that this is not the way he ever chose to live, referring to his past. The comedian continued to clarify that this video does not promote cancel culture or degrade the movement, #MeToo.
However, Callen admitted that #MeToo was much-needed movements ever as it gave women the power to speak against the powerful abuser. Callen also acknowledged that it has become easier for anyone to put allegations and men are guilty even before accusations are proven.
