The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been treading on the path they chose for themselves, probably to the queen’s dismay. Consequently, the Queen has barred the royal couple from using "royal" for branding purposes for their future ventures. It is her stringent decision that has caused the couple to put an end to the Sussex Royal Foundation.
Since the beginning of the year, Harry and Meghan had been dropping hints of discontentment with the royal life. The couple first stepped down from their senior roles and eventually, they quit as working royals on April 1. As obvious, the queen didn’t seem to like the gesture and took away all the royal privileges, even the royal titles.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had launched the Sussex Royal Foundation, one year back in July following the split from the charity they ran in collaboration with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The couple may not make use of “royal” in the future, but they have come up with a new charitable organization as a replacement to the Sussex Royal Foundation. The charity is titled Archewell - coming from a Greek word “Arche” which stands for the “source of action”.
Speaking with media about their new charity, the couple stated, “We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son's name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right.”
The couple truly loves the word “Arche” and the same affection might is supposed to be the source of inspiration for naming their son as Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
According to the latest reports, Prince Harry is worked up to launch Archewell. From their statement, it is almost certain that the launch of Archewell will not be an immediate event rather it will take some time.
Prince Harry said that the charity will be ‘supporting efforts’ to make the world a better place to live in. In addition to Archewell, Prince Harry will also be working to extend the operations of his eco-travel venture Travalyst.
Building on that, the couple certainly doesn’t want the bright limelight or the flash of tons of cameras and their effort to be self-sufficient is quite evident with everything they have been doing lately. The couple is set to give Archewell a great go.
