Sophie, Countess of Wessex, has demonstrated her grit during the outbreak of the coronavirus along with the other members of the Royal Family. The countess is reportedly the favorite daughter-in-law of Queen Elizabeth II.
Amidst massive fear and chaos in Great Britain after the coronavirus outbreak, Sophie, Countess of Wessex has opted for a self-isolation along with her family. Thus, she has followed the footsteps of several other Royal Family members.
The scare of COVID-19 infections has lately prevented the royals to take part in their responsibilities as they would usually do. The Countess is not able to carry out her public duties the way she would have liked to do and yet she is still working remotely.
The Court Circular that is responsible for documenting the movements of the royals of the United Kingdom mentions that Sophie made her last public appearance on Mar. 10. Then, Prince William’s aunt was spotted at the Foulness Heritage Centre, Foulness Island. She accompanied Prince Edward, her husband to celebrate the latter’s “Anniversary of the Birthday.”
However, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, has been attending video conferences from Mar. 26 onwards. She interacted with Cherie Blair as the Vision Foundation’s patron.
Her latest engagement was conducted over a telephone as the Chairperson of The Duke of Edinburgh Award's Women in Business Committee. It is imperative to note that Sophie is not the only person in the Royal Family to conduct business remotely. Apart from Prince William’s aunt, many other senior royal members have been also doing the same, Express reports.
According to another report by Express, many were afraid of the Queen’s well-being after Prince Charles tested positive for COVID-19. However, the Queen is reportedly in good health.
Queen Elizabeth II is 93-year-old and is adhering to strict Government instructions in the midst of coronavirus lockdown. She and her husband Prince Philip will not make public appearances until the Government lifts the restrictions.
Many believe that Sophie is the favorite daughter-in-law of the Queen. Prince Edward, Sophie’s husband, is the only child of the Queen who is not divorced, which is reportedly one of the key reasons why his mother has a soft corner for the Countess.
Queen Elizabeth II has posted a couple of video clips of the Countess of Wessex. The clips were shared via the Twitter account of the Royal Family.
This could be a sign that the Queen relies upon Sophie, Countess of Wessex and she is the royal favorite. The first video was shot by Lady Louise Windsor, her daughter and was also shared as an Instagram story.
