The royal family will, reportedly, snub Meghan Markle’s 39th birthday next month.
According to New Idea, it has been a common practice for the bells at Westminster Abbey to ring when a senior working royal celebrates their birthday.
However, since Markle already quit her royal duties, it is unlikely for the royal family to ring the bells in her honor. Last year, they, reportedly, rang the bells for Markle to commemorate her 38th birthday.
Daily Mail’s Richard Eden thinks that there will be a birthday snub for Markle. But 11 days later, the bells will ring to commemorate Princess Anne’s birthday.
The bells at Westminster Abbey will also ring for Kate Middleton when she turns 39 in January.
“The bells are usually rung to mark the birthdays of senior members of the Royal Family, and through the line of succession to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children,” a spokesperson told Eden.
Meanwhile, there are claims that Markle is completely being frozen out by the royal family after she said that they didn’t protect her during her pregnancy.
Several tabloids have also been saying that Queen Elizabeth is furious with Markle for suggesting that she didn’t do enough to help her out.
According to Star, the queen thinks that she did everything she can to help Markle and Prince Harry out. However, the public’s perception of Markle is already beyond her control.
“The queen’s done her utmost to protect her family, especially since Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, died in a 1997 car crash while being pursued by paparazzi. But it’s impossible to completely control how people view Meghan and what they say about her,” the source said.
The insider also said that the queen is angry and embarrassed by Markle’s revelations.
“She doesn’t take well to the royal family’s dirty laundry being aired,” a source told the tabloid.
According to the insider, Markle is aware of the queen’s fury but she doesn’t have any plans to back down from their fight.
“Meghan’s not backing down from this fight. She doesn’t feel she owes the royal family a thing,” the source said.
Throughout the past couple of decades, the queen hasn’t directly responded to the rumors surrounding the royal family. According to People, the monarch’s belief is that the rumors will die down if they don’t give it too much focus.
However, this isn’t what happened with the rumors and criticisms surrounding Prince Harry and Markle.
