According to the first daughter, quarantine alludes to having time to explore things and expand your mind. Ivanka is using this time to do things she normally wouldn't consider as a priority. Keeping in line with that, she is utilizing her free time by reading The Odyssey, and even learning to play guitar.
Moreover, Ivanka doesn't feel her self-quarantine experience amid the coronavirus pandemic is poles apart from every other American parent. The eldest daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump made an appearance on Yahoo Finance to participate in a remote interview.
Aside from talking about her father's plan for the United States during the aforesaid interview, Ivanka spoke about how she's leaving no stone unturned in an attempt to restrict the spread of the virus. She deemed herself as a strong supporter of social distancing concept and said she practices it to the T.
Ivanka fancies staying at home and "doing as much telephonically as possible," she told Sibile Marcellus of Yahoo Finance. She has three children - Joseph, Theodore, and Arabella with husband Jared Kushner, who are growing restless by day, making it harder for the entire family to stay home. Nevertheless, she believes parents across the country are probably facing the same challenge.
The 38-year-old said she is utilizing this unique time to "reframe all of it through the lens of the joy of having this family connectivity," even if it sometimes feels like an arduous task. Despite actively practicing social distancing, Ivanka, who serves as senior advisor to the president manages to find opportunities that allow her to “expand her mind.”
During her interview with Marcellus, Ivanka said she's using her newly free time during her weekends and evenings that would usually spend working or attending school function to exploring things she'd normally have even considered doing.
Since she's undergoing a Coursera free course in Greek and Roman mythology, Ivanka is currently reading The Odyssey. Aside from that, she has started to learn to play the guitar" and she's putting her back into it. Whether she's sitting with her kids, when they are sleeping, "that's what I'm doing," she added.
Her quarantine experience wasn't well-received on social media with netizens accusing her of being tone-deaf. In her earlier interview, the first daughter spoke about how she is helping small American businesses that are currently struggling economically amid the coronavirus pandemic.
