Actor Ryan Dorsey and Late actress Naya Rivera divorced two years back while they raised their four-year-old son, Josey together. After the demise of the 33-year-old actress, ex-husband Dorsey is trying to cope with the reality that he has to take care of Josey without his mother, Rivera.
In the latest People magazine's issue, an insider revealed that the 36-year-old actor haven't slept properly since the news of her demise was confirmed. It is unbelievable for Dorsey to even think of raising Josey without Rivera as the circumstances are devastating.
Last week, Rivera was drowned at the Lake, and Dorsey was seen holding his son tight in his arms once he was rescued by the officials. Dorsey went into the lake with Rivera's father and other family members before her body was found.
The source explained that even though Dorsey and Rivera weren't together, she was the mother of his son and it's a nightmare to think that raising Josey without his mother.
The cause of Rivera's death was revealed after an autopsy report was issued by The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office. They confirmed on July 14 that the death happened due to drowning. The Glee star death has been listed under accidental demise.
The Medical Examiner's Office further confirmed that there were no alcohol or drugs involved with the tragic incident. However, they will be forwarding the specimens for testing the toxicology soon.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office took massive steps and built a special team to search Rivera in the lake. The search went on for five days before her body was discovered. The actress rented a motorboat to spend time with her son in the lake and later disappeared.
Josey was rescued safely from the lake after three hours. He was found sleeping on the pontoon boat and wrapped in a towel. Later, the Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub held a press conference in which he revealed that Rivera helped Josey to board safely into the boat while she failed to save herself.
According to Josey's statement, when he looked back after boarding the boat, her mother disappeared in the lake. Rivera and Dorsey were together for almost four years before they decided to divorce.
The actress wrote a book called Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up, in which she mentioned that her son was her greatest achievement and there will be nothing greater than him.
