Queen Elizabeth will, allegedly, snub Camilla Parker Bowles on her 73rd birthday on Friday.
According to New Idea, Camilla’s special day will be overshadowed by the queen’s first royal engagement since the coronavirus pandemic hit the United Kingdom in March.
The queen’s royal engagement will, reportedly, take place at Windsor Castle. While there, Her Majesty will meet with war veteran Captain Tom Moore, who has raised millions for NHS charities during the pandemic.
The queen will recognize Moore’s efforts by knighting him. And since this will be the queen’s first public appearance since March, the publication said that it will most likely draw more attention than Camilla’s birthday.
However, it is important to note that there is no competition between the queen and Camilla. As such, even though the queen will be making her first public appearance in months, she and the royal family will still pay tribute to Camilla on the occasion of her birthday.
In fact, Clarence House already released a beautiful photo of Prince Charles’ wife to commemorate the occasion.
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace confirmed that all the necessary precautions will be put in place to make sure that the queen and Moore will be safe from the deadly virus. Moore is 100 years old, which means that he’s also at a high-risk for the illness.
The queen also made headlines this week after Buckingham Palace launched their own royal family gin. The ingredients used in the drink came from the queen’s garden.
According to the palace, the gin is being sold online for $50 to help ease the financial crisis that the royal family is experiencing. Since the pandemic, the royal family has already lost millions since tourists and visitors aren’t allowed to visit the palaces and other key attractions.
As for Camilla’s birthday celebration, it will most likely be different from her previous celebrations with her family and friends. Two years ago, the mom of two celebrated her birthday with Prince Charles while at St. Mary’s on the Isles of Sicily.
Three years ago, the Duchess of Cornwall celebrated her 70th birthday with a garden party at Clarence House. Camilla invited a slew of A-listers to the occasion. A year later, Prince Charles also had a massive birthday party on his 70th birthday.
This year, Camilla will most likely celebrate her birthday at Clarence House with Prince Charles and the other members of the royal family.
