Hillary Clinton said she learned a lot about patience from her daughter Chelsea. Chelsea and her mother Hillary share a close bond. During a recent interview with OprahMag, the former first lady spoke about things she learned from her only child.
According to Hillary, her daughter Chelsea taught her about patience, as well as understanding situations a little better, especially when she didn't get what she wanted. In addition to that, Hillary admired her daughter as a mother.
“I've learned a lot watching her be a mom,” she said. Chelsea is a great mother to her three children, Hillary added, while also lauding her daughter's ability to make decisions. Hillary allows Chelsea to make her decisions due to the respect she has for her.
“I have learned to bite my tongue and bide my time,” the popular American politician noted. She realizes that her pieces of advice are of her generation, reflects her personality and is primarily based on her experiences. She shares her advice more sparingly, given that she respects her daughter's boundaries and right to make her own decision.
Singing praises of her mother, Chelsea shared that she learned a lot of things from her, including how to read. Aside from that, she said Hillary thought her to never give up and to always get back on your feet after falling. Chelsea and her husband Marc Mezvinsky have three children including 5-years-old Charlotte, 3-years-old Aidan and Jasper, who is just 8 months old.
Chelsea shared that while she liked her mother's parenting style, she adopts a different approach to deal with her kids. Nevertheless, she is always grateful to hear Hillary's advice on parenting, despite knowing that sometimes she has to reinforce her boundaries.
Thanking her mother for sharing a piece of advice, Chelsea sometimes doesn't implement them. Chelsea appreciates her mother giving her advice; however, she doesn't always take them. Hillary even spoke about her husband, President Bill Clinton and how his affair with Monica Lewinsky affected their marriage.
According to Hillary, she was in a stage where she didn't want anything to do with Bill Clinton, but when a picture of them as a family was captured with Chelsea holding bother of her parent's hands, she felt that her daughter was keeping them from parting ways. So, Hillary decided to not leave and keep their family.
Hillary Clinton admitted that she was upset and even hurt because of her husband's affair in the third episode of documentary series dubbed The Hardest Decision on Hulu.
