Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have officially stepped down as senior members of the royal family and free to pursue all that they want as normal people, but this does not mean Harry already forgotten his family. A new report claimed that he has taken the initiative to warn his team and his wife’s team that they would never take on projects that will eventually ruin his royal family - the Queen, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William especially.
According to the Daily Mail UK, Prince Harry already instructed Meghan Markle’s former Hollywood agent, Nick Collins o the Gersh Agency that they would not be amenable to any proposals or offers requiring them to speak ill of the palace. It does not matter if the offers are good in a monetary sense, Prince Harry does not want to shame his grandmother and father. Even with the reported feud with his brother, Prince William, he is also not willing to do anything that will compromise him.
The agent is now representing him and his wife in all the possible opportunities they can grab in this post-royal life. There is no shortage of such offers compelling them to dish out something scandalous about the palace though. According to sources, offers have already started to flood the two, worth tens of millions of dollars. Some are linked to their charity plans but some are also commercials and other marketing work that has one storyline - to reflect on their royal links (and the associated drama!).
But Prince Harry is not willing to have “media war” with his own family nor create more “bad blood” between them. “Harry has instructed his and Meghan's team to nix anything that in any way could be negative towards the royals. Essentially anything that is negative to the Queen, Prince Charles, his brother or the throne is off-limits,” the sources shared to Daily Mail. They concluded that even though he stepped away from the royal life, he does not want to do anything that would upset his beloved family.
What this warning from Prince Harry means for Meghan Markle’s career remains to be seen. There are malicious reports claiming the former “Suits” actress wanting to do all just to get back to her Hollywood career. However, if she’s not allowed to dish anything juicy about the royal life, her appeal just might be lessened.
A brand management executive, Eric Schiffer early on claimed that her appeal to Hollywood would not last long. "Hollywood, in the end, will dump Meghan and chew her out the way she and Buckingham Palace ditched each other,” he said.
On the other hand, the actress does have her skills and experience, and she’ll be fine getting the projects she so desires.
