In the midst of the pandemic season, China sets its sights on globally leading the way in the 5G consumption. In a world slowed down by the COVID-19 pandemic, the country has its steam full-blown determination.
Per Yahoo! Finance, China is currently constructing “tens of thousands” 5G base stations each week: aiming to keep the pillar they built in the 4G cellular technology in the next generation, battling against the United States. Even with the globalization uncertainty, the Chinese wishes to dominate the technical and domestic supply chains causing a stable and advance position as the factory high-deck across the world.
Qualcomm defines 5G as a new wireless technology that provides an optimized and higher multi-GPBS top data speeds, less latencies, reliable than ever, massive network handle, expanded availability and a more standardized user experience. 5G is coordinated to be rolled out around the world causing for more devices to be able to connect and offer real-time feedback on how the world we used to live will massively change. Naming such technological advancement is self-driving cars in an augmented reality setup.
According to CNET, China is currently the leading country in making 5G available to its users, coming before the U.S., which is said that have been benefited hugely in the emerging businesses and jobs from the 4G network, including the social media platform live streaming feature and car-renting services of Uber. In a business critic’s point of view, definitely 5G will produce a similar wave of job availabilities in both old and new businesses.
In November 2019, crown-owned mobile contractors China Unicom, China Mobile, and China Telecom spilled out their 5G development and implementation plans, coming after Beijing and Washington battling against a “power struggle” over trading and technology. Following China, major mobile operators in the U.S., U.K., and South Korea have rolled out the said network.
Supposedly, 2020 is the big and waited year for 5G to go lamestream. However, due to the global discord caused by the coronavirus, the said plans have been put on hold.
Coronavirus originated in a town named Wuhan in China that has irresponsibly spread out across the globe, affecting millions of lives, listing the U.S. as one of its major case contributor. With the pandemic, lockdowns in different cities and towns was implemented causing almost all of the businesses to temporarily close or indulge to the “work from home” setup.
Amid the crisis, report finds that by end of 2020, China will emerge victorious over the 5G domination owning over 500,000 towers, nearing to hit the 5 million targets.
