Ryan Reynolds took things to the next level on July 9 episode of the reality game show when Adam Scott posed a question about Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry during a segment called "Don't Get Tired." The aforesaid question was quite outdated.
The question revolved around the official title of Markle, who went from Suits to crowns after her marriage to Prince Harry, before she resigned. The camera then pans away from Scott as he tries to tweak the other part of the question, Us Weekly reported.
A regular viewer of the show is likely to know that Scott provides the contestants with four multiple choice answers. Keeping in line with the show's format, he gave the contestants four options regarding Markle's official title before she resigned. The options included Countess of Cambridge, Duchess of Wessex, Duchess of Cornwall, or Duchess of Sussex.
Taking this as an opportunity to insert some more humor in the show, Reynolds interrupted in his trademark voiceover, offering the fifth option which was "We taped this show seven months ago." The contestants, which comprised four sisters, ended up answering incorrectly as they guessed the Duchess of Cornwall, a title that belongs to Prince Charles' wife Camilla.
The right answer was Markle held the title of the Duchess of Sussex after resigning. The royal couple gave up their positions as senior members of the royal family earlier this year, and decided to split their time beween North America and the U.K., instead. The Sussexes said they decided to step back as the royal family's senior members after several months of internal discussions and reflection.
The Sussex Royal website highlights a message from the couple, who chose to make the transition in 2020 in a bid to find progressive new roles within the institution. The pair posted this message on their Instagram page as well, as they announced their decision to step back as senior members of the Royal Family and become financially independent, without stopping to support Her Majesty The Queen.
Markle and Harry attributed their ability to make the big adjustment to the queen's encouragement. The pair also noted that they would be balancing their time beween North America and the United Kingdom while honoring their duty to the Commonwealth, their patronages and The Queen.
The couple shares a 1-year-old son, Archie. After leaving the U.K., they spent some time in Canada but decided to settle in Los Angeles, Markle’s hometown, in March.
