Brad Pitt, allegedly, blindsided Jennifer Aniston with his decision to propose to Alia Shawkat.
According to In Touch Weekly, Aniston knew that Pitt was going back and forth between her and Shawkat. And when things stopped progressing between them, the actress allegedly had an idea that her ex-husband chose Shawkat over her.
Still, Aniston didn’t think that Pitt is so in love with the Arrested Development star that he would ask her to marry him this soon.
“At first, Alia and Brad were just friends. But they started to develop feelings for each other, while Brad’s romance with Jen remained stagnant, and Jen noticed. She gave Brad time and space, but he continued to bounce back and forth between the two. Finally, he picked Alia, afraid it wouldn’t work out with Jen and he’d hurt her again,” the source said.
From there, the source claimed that Pitt has fallen madly in love with Shawkat that he asked her to be his wife.
“One day, during a hike in Malibu, Brad spontaneously got down on one knee and asked Alia to marry him. He didn’t even have a ring yet. Alia said yes, of course. She was ecstatic,” the source said.
And when Aniston found out about Pitt and Shawkat’s engagement, she was allegedly devastated. On the contrary, Angelina Jolie allegedly wished her ex-husband well after learning about his engagement.
“Angie called Brad and wished him well! He was floored, especially since they’re still fighting over Chateau Miraval. But people suspect part of the reason she’s so supportive is that she’s relieved he’s not marrying Jen again. That’s the last thing Angie would have wanted,” the source said.
However, one should take the claims made by the tabloid with a grain of salt. Pitt didn’t propose to Shawkat during a recent hike in Malibu. There isn’t any proof that the A-listers even went on a hike in the first place.
While speaking with Vulture, Shawkat already directly denied that she and Pitt are dating. The actress said that they’re just friends and they also have a slew of common friends that they hang out with regularly.
Based on the actress’ response last month, there’s no question that the tabloid’s story is fake. Aniston and Jolie didn’t also have different reactions to Pitt and Shawkat’s engagement because it just didn’t happen.
