U.S. President Donald Trump has, reportedly, been showing signs of declining abilities, with USA Today's opinion contributor John Gartner suggesting giving the POTUS a "full neuropsychological evaluation" to find out for sure.
Trump has a reputation for sparking dementia rumors from time to time and he lived up to his notoriety on Tuesday during a coronavirus press conference that was held at the White House. While the press conference was slated to make headlines for how the country is gearing up to deal with the pandemic, President Trump stole the limelight by admitting to reporters that he made an incorrect prediction about the deadly virus.
According to the president's previous statement, putting a lid on the coronavirus outbreak can be done in 15 days. To make things worse, Trump even mispronounced a rather easy-to-pronounce word. During his speech, Trump corrected his earlier prediction by saying it takes 30 days to restrict the spread of the coronavirus.
President Trump mispronounced emergency as "evirgincy," shocking American. Hawk-eyed Journalist Aaron Rupar noticed the mistake and even upload his video on Twitter. Among a slew of other rumors about the president doing the rounds online, there have been speculations indicating that the POTUS applies orange makeup to hide the normal skin color and look less white.
Some reports are suggesting that he gets a tan regularly, which explains the discoloration all over his body. As expected, netizens grabbed this opportunity to make fun of the president's mispronouncing emergency, as well as the strange color of his face during his latest public appearance.
A Twitterati commented, "Evirgincy" sounds like a word formed combining "Adderall and bath salts." Another Twitter user split the mispronounced word as "A virgin emergency." Twitter user @StevenReyCristo pointed out that as Trump shows undeniable signs of severe cognitive decline, Republicans claim former Vice President of U.S. Joe Biden is too old to be president.
Twitter user Lora (@Publia1920) said she talks for a living, given that she is a teacher and mispronounce words maybe a couple of times a year. She described Trump's mispronunciation as "BEYOND normal," suggesting that is obvious that he has dementia.
During his Motera stadium speech in New Delhi earlier this year, President Donald Trump addressed about 1,10,000 people but stumbled over some names including cricket's icon Sachin Tendulkar, Swami Vivekananda, India's most popular Hindu monk and also mispronouncing the Vedas as The Vestas, Outlook reported.
"Who thought it was a good idea to get Trump to try and pronounce Swami Vivekananda on stage," a Twitter user said.
