Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have allegedly settled into a truce months after the latter announced her bombshell exit from the royal family.
According to Heat, Middleton didn’t initially want to meddle with Prince Harry and Markle’s decision. After all, she has more important things to do other than to concern herself with the Sussexes.
Initially, the Duchess of Cambridge tried to mend fences with the royal couple but things eventually changed.
“Kate made visible attempts to get along with Harry and Meghan in the past year, but now things have changed,” the book, Royals At War claimed.
But after realizing that she’s the one that benefited most from Prince Harry and Markle’s Megxit, Middleton allegedly reached out to the Sussexes.
“Despite the friction, Kate and Meghan have now settled into a truce. And it’s Kate who has benefited most from Meghan and Harry’s decision to step away from royal life and build a new life in Los Angeles,” the source said.
More details about Middleton and Markle’s relationship will be unveiled in the Royals at War.
Meanwhile, Middleton and Markle’s feud allegedly started way before the latter married Prince Harry.
While speaking with Glamour, royal author Katie Nicholl said that she doesn’t think that there’s an actual catfight between the sisters-in-law. However, the tabloids have been saying that there is because it makes for a captivating headline.
“I've never heard from my sources that there has ever been a feud or a falling-out. I had heard about an upset over the dress fitting for Princess Charlotte. And I had heard that while Harry was very keen for the two of them to become best friends, there was never that sort of a friendship,” she said.
Nicholl also said that Markle and Middleton realized very early on that they are mature and very different from each other. And the only common thing they shared was that they were married to princes.
This common ground because the main reason why royal fans wanted Markle and Middleton to become best friends. However, they were never that close to have fights.
“I do think there is some truth to their having been some tension—not just between the duchesses but between the dukes, as well. As we all know, things can gather momentum pretty quickly. So, while I think there's been tension, I don't believe there has been some feud,” she said.
