While reports about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving Canada for the United States continue floating around the internet, the former royal couple has made it clear that they do not rely on the U.S. government's aid for bearing their security expenses.

Responding to President Donald Trump's recent tweet about the United States' unwillingness to pay for their couple's protection, the couple released a statement on Sunday. Earlier this year, Harry and Meghan announced they would be stepping down from their royal duties. If media reports are anything to go by, they have now moved to Los Angeles.

The POTUS took to Twitter on Sunday to share a tweet that read, “Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay.”

The couple's spokeswoman clarified in a statement that The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not plan to ask the American government to pay for their security. Furthermore, the spokeswoman divulged that privately-funded security has already been arranged for them.
