Kate Middleton could, reportedly, find herself in hot water once Prince Charles ascends the throne.

When Middleton first joined the royal family in 2011, she received countless criticisms from every single thing that she did. Eventually, royal fans warmed up to her and she’s now one of the most popular members of the British clan.

But according to TheTalko magazine, changes will be made when Prince Charles becomes King. As such, Middleton needs to adapt to these changes if she doesn’t want to get criticized.

The magazine said that in order for the royals to appeal to more people, they need to stop themselves from talking about politics. Queen Elizabeth has stayed politically neutral throughout her reign.

But when Prince Charles ascends the throne, there are claims that he might change things. The heir might allow members of the royal family to talk about politics, religion, and more.

When this happens, the magazine said that Prince William and Middleton would have no other choice but to adapt to the changes. They also need to share their political stand. Doing so will make the royal couple more appealing and relatable to the public.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were recently praised for modernizing the British monarchy. Royal commentator Imogen Lloyd Webber told People that Prince William and Middleton will revolutionize the royal family by passing on Princess Diana’s teachings to their three children.

After all, the Princess of Wales was all about making the monarchy approachable and accessible. The late royal always wanted to keep things real even though doing so was frowned upon years ago.

“It was all about going to McDonald’s and going to theme parks, going skying – all those sorts of things and also visiting the homeless. William and Harry have very much brought that into their own families,” Webber said.

On Father’s Day last month, Middleton and Prince William showed a different side to themselves when they shared adorable photos with their kids. The snaps were taken by the future queen consort and it shows Prince William playing with his children on the grass.

Another photo features Prince Charles leaning on Prince William’s shoulder while they are smiling from ear to ear. This side of the royal family is not commonly seen especially during the queen’s time. Back then, the monarch greeted her children with a handshake and not with a hug or a kiss.
