First Lady Melania Trump joined her husband, POTUS Donald Trump, at the early Fourth of July celebration at Mount Rushmore, South Dakota.

However, Twitter began to poke on Melania’s designer dress. The former model and now First Lady attended the July 3 Independence Day celebration in front of South Dakota’s 7,500 congregation. Twitter users were observant and clever enough, catching an eye to her Alexander McQueen designer dress.

According to HollywoodLife, the design of the said dress looked like Donald Trump had scribbled the fabric with a sharpie.

“Melania pulled a plain white dress for her evening in North Dakota and before they left Trump took a sharpie marker to it,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another Twitter user commented how Donald Trump got very bored so he drew Melania’s dress using a sharpie on Air Force One.

Some even compared the doodle designs to the disreputable ‘Sharpiegate’: the time Trump used a huge sharpie to draw the hurricane Dorian’s official map in September.

Another Twitter user wrote that Trump was just trying himself to draw another hurricane map on Melania’s dress. The hashtag #IndependenceFromTrump was used by a Twitter user, who commented that Melania needs freedom from Donald.

“I thought they took away his sharpie after the hurricane incident?” one Twitter user cheekily questioned.

The 50-year-old former model and now First Lady Melania Trump is always known for her luxurious designer wardrobe, and has wore some of them during the Independence Day celebration over the years. Recently, the Slovenian-born former model, flaunted some of her designer accessories such as her Birkin bag collection. And as what Express U.K. described her, Melania has an “impeccable and expensive style”.

That brings us to her Alexander McQueen dress she wore at the 4th of July celebration. To no one’s surprise, the dress costs over $2,000, that features an unsymmetrical fringe, with a full-skirt and a strange doodle design.

The said dress was one of McQueen’s 2020 Spring collection and was collaboratively designed between the brand and Central Saint Martins students in London. The doodles made by the English students is from the fashion cartoonist Julie Verhoeven’s life-drawing class and was later on hand-embroidered and stitched by the brand. The designer dress was then first seen on the catwalk show of the designer’s Spring 2020 collection. Melania matched the Alexander McQueen dress with a Christian Louboutin black elegant high-heels and a slender black belt.

On the top of the Twitter mockery Melania received, she took on Instagram account posting a photo with a powerful caption describing her great evening spent in South Dakota. “…witnessing a beautiful display of fireworks,” Melania wrote.
